Hi Claire,

I also extend my sympathy for your loss and continuing sadness.

Adding to Ann's post-I also had a ferret who we knew had Lymphoma (we were
treating him with chemo, and he was doing great -he stayed his playful,
chunky self during the four months we were treating him.) who very suddenly
lost the use of his rear legs. He also ate and drank for a couple of days,
and then refused food. Because he was so spunky up to that point and
apparently in good health other than the lymphoma diagnosis, we tried
everything to get him through the crisis, but we ended up losing him within
a week of the day he lost the use of his rear legs. I concur that the
kindest thing you could do was let your little one go. That we continued to
fight to keep my Hershey with us after he steadfastly refused to eat is my
one regret...

Betty
