A note of caution.
Insulinoma may not always be confirmed with one blood test as the
insulin producing islet cells can produce irregular spikes of insulin
especially in the early stages, these may not be present when blood
is drawn and the glucose levels can then appear normal.
I don't think that this was insulinoma however as the course of the
illness seems too speedy.
