Agreed. However in this case, where the ferret was experiencing loss
of the hind limbs when blood was drawn, I would think if insulinoma
were the cause glucose readings would have been low at the time.

The way I read it the ferret had had ongoing problems (weight loss,
dehydration, lethargy, loss of appetite) intermittently for some time.
Though even if the onset were sudden insulinoma could still be a
possibilty, as ferrets can go for some time with the illness showing
little to no symptoms.
