Hi, it looks like you got a lot of great advice, but I have to chime in and
agree with the one poster who encouraged seeking the help of a ferret
shelter. If you have no way at all to get your little one much needed
medical care to save his life and so he doesn't suffer with whatever is
causing his symptoms, PLEASE consider surrendering him to a local ferret
shelter as they have the ways and means to get him medical attention
IMMEDIATELY, which is what he needs!
Surrendering your little one isn't an easy thing, but it's humane and an act
of love because you're giving him the very best by doing so, giving him the
best possible shot at living and not suffering.
Sometimes, we just have to love them enough to let them go with people who
can provide what they need when we can't.
Your boy sounds like he could have ulcers, which needs immediate treatment,
but as another person already said.... ulcers can be a sign of something
else, which means tests and possible treatment(s) for that.
ONLY a ferret knowledgeable vet can get to the bottom of things and
prescribe proper treatment, and that treatment will most likely include meds
and follow up visits, blood work, etc.
If you can't borrow money for the vet, and if Care Credit can't approve you,
PLEASE consider a ferret shelter so your baby has a chance.
