I dont think there's any dead skin yet..I think she was saying there could be if the stitches stayed in longer.

I know it sounds rather like going back to the beginning but if there
is a large area of dead skin it will take ages to heal unless it is
removed and two bits of healthy skin joined together, the vet may well
be right and this will be the quickest way to get the wound to heal.
