Subject: [ferrethealth] Gravy for ferrets with renal problems
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
When Mateo was diagnosed adrenal, the dr. told me he also had slight
renal failure. So he was started on a diet of half his regular kibble
(Kitten ProPlan) and half Sience Hills k/d. The dr. also said it was
ok for my other 2 to be on the same diet, since Lucas is also
adrenal, and all my 3 are now considered geriatric at age 4
(whaaaaaaat??? They're as playful as ever!).
So anyways, I want to start giving them Bob Church's gravy more often
now that they are oldies, I think it would do them good (specially
now that my poor Lucas is at the vet hospital with some misterious
ailment, but that's another story - just say a little prayer for him
if you can). Because of Mateo having renal problems, I think the
original gravy recipe might be too rich. I've thought about leaving
out the ferretvite/nutrical, but wanted to ask if someone had any
other suggestions or recipes for ferrets with renal problems they
might want to share.
I know feeding topics can become hot topics so if you want to email
me privately that's fine.
Thanks in advance,
Alicia and The Precious - Matilda, Mateo & Lucas
