Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret not acting right
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

The approximately 2 year old ferret that I've been fostering since
June for a ferret shelter is usually a little hellion. However, over
the past week he has not been very active at all and prefers to go
to sleep in the corner when he's out of the cage

He has been eating normally. I do believe that he has been drinking
a little more than usual and his stool is now a little mushy.

He has been scratching a lot lately and I have given him a bath
thinking that it could be fleas or him shedding but he is still
scratching a lot. He has no other signs of adrenal disease.

Although for a couple of days last week it did seem like his eyes
were watery, he has not been around anyone with the flu.
Nothing has changed in his environment. The ferrets get fed a
combination of Totally Ferret and Pro Plan Kitten and drink spring
water from glass water bottles.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Is there any chance that this rapid change could be adrenal disease?
Should I get him a Ferrtonin implant just to be on the safe side?

I have owned ferrets for about 18 years and I do know when it's time
to panic. Right now I'm concerned.
