Subject: [ferrethealth] checking for blood in stools
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I've had positive results by placing the stool on a white paper towel
and dripping drops of water on it. If there is blood when the water
seeps into the white paper towel it has a red/pinkish tinge to it. I
triple fold the paper towels and do this on a piece of cardboard to
prevent contamination of counters. Note though that if your ferret is
eating something red in their diet this might also cause a pinkish
tint.
