Hi. I'm not a vet, and I don't understand the anatomy of a ferret 'hiccup,'
but I do know that all of mine do that on occasion. Sometimes it's when I
pick them up, sometimes when I put them down, sometimes for no apparent
reason..... in other words, there doesn't seem to be a trigger for this.
I've heard that this is quite normal, and our vet isn't concerned. It was
one of the first questions I asked the vet when I got my first ferret. ;p
There may be more to this hiccup thing than i know, of course, but I'm
certain someone will chime in and fill us in if there is.
The snoring I don't know anything about, but my Boo Boo (who is about 5 1/2
years old) does this squeaking sound when he, I think exhales when he's
sleeping. He doesn't do it all the time, but it's not an unusual sound for
him. Our vet doesn't seem to have any concerns with Boo Boo's squeaky
snoring.
Standard disclaimer applies, of course; if you're concerned, a vet visit
would be the best way to know for sure. :)
