Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal Ferret Bruising
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Woozle is 6 years old, adrenal and on Lupron Depot. He is bruising
easily. The bruises last only a day or two and are almost perfect
circles. Dr Williams had an article in May/June 2007 ferret mag issue
where this was briefly mentioned. My vet suggested meletonin but said
it had a slim possibility of helping and his prognoses was not good. I
was wondering if any other new information had come out since that
article. Woozle also is receiving sub-q fluids daily as he only has 1
kidney. He has started showing signs of muscle wasting, and a touch of
hind end weakness. Because his vet was estimating another week or 2
for him, we have considered taking him off the sub-q as it also causes
bruising at this point, and just letting him have happy days until he
says it is time.
