Subject: [ferrethealth] What do do as far as surgery with enlarged prostate?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I ready somewhere in the archives that for this, surgery has better
results than Lupron/propecia/casodex/melatonin.
I was not sure if this meant surgery as in Adrenal surgery, or
specifically a prostate surgery, which I am interested in for ferrets
who already had adrenal surgery and are having issues with their
prostates. I further read that it is recommended to find a surgeon who
is good with adrenals and knows how to fix the prostate.
Can anyone shed some light onto how to "fix" the prostate? Last I heard
it is exremely difficult to get into that area of the body to drain
cysts and look at the prostate in general (not from my current vet, but
from a college vet I didn't actually use in Michigan).
Thanks so much,
xxxxxxx

I assume with omentalization that the fluid drains into the omentum.
The FHL Archives are an easily used, well designed treasure chest!
Many thanks to Pam and Eric Sessoms for creating and maintaining
