Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on Lucas
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

So the fine needle aspiration showed no lymphoma. Yeah!!! Glad about
that but wary because the vet did warn me that sometimes spleen
aspirations give false negatives.
I am still so worried about Lucas. He's getting a little bit better
but only because I feed him and give him water regularly. If I don't,
he doesn't eat or drink that I can see. He does go to his litter box,
so I guess that means he still has some strenghth.
Tomorrow we have an appointment with the vet.
These are the meds Lucas is on right now:
- Subq Ranitidine (for possible ulcer) every 12 hrs.
- Predisone every 12 hrs.
- Was on Amoxicillin but ended the treatment last Sunday
- Vitamin C every 12 hrs.

I also
- Syringe feed every 4 hrs.
- Give him 1 ml. water every couple of hours or so.

These are his symptoms:
- Green urine a couple of times (searched FHL archives, mention of
renal and hepatic failure, which the vet had already told me he has.
But why??).
- Ulcer on the back of the roof of the mouth.
- Everytime I feed him or give him water after we're done he acts as
he gets nausea. He rubs his face on the carpets, scratches the
corners. But he does want to eat when I am feeding him. This really
puzzles me.
- Vomits sporadically (not everyday - i.e. today he hasn't, yesterday
he did twice).
- He doesn't eat or drink on his own that I can see. This really
worries me.

Today and yesterday he came out of his cage, if only to go sleep on
his little bed in my room.
I hope tomorrow I can get some answers for my poor baby.
