Lupron needs to be given monthly or every three to four months,
depending on which version you're giving. There is a monthly depot and
and four month depot. There is no six month depot (that I am aware
of). If you're giving the four month depot every six months you're
waiting too long. The four month depot is only effective for three to
four months (I've seen breakthroughs in many at three to three and a
half months), which leaves your ferret untreated for two to three
months in between. This may not be effective in the long run, as
you're basically starting treatment from scratch each time your ferret
is without lupron in it's system.
