No, Ambesol is not a good idea. It will burn an open sore badly and
then once it is numb he is likely to injure it again.
Go ahead and call the vet for a bottle of oral Metacam. It last a long
time a can be great in an emergency. But make absolutly sure the vet
shows you how to use the doser and the exact dose for his weight and
stick by it. If used improperly the ferret can overdose just like with
any pain med. I keep it on hand at my home.
