To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Sorry I guess I wasn't clear. The compounding pharmacy is familiar with
Deslorelin because it is used in horses here in Canada. In my
ignorance, not realizing the Deslorelin currently being used is an
implant -I asked the pharmacist if he thought a Deslorelin Depot could
be compounded for use in ferrets to treat adrenal disease because it is
being used that way in Europe - similar to the way Lupron Depot is being
used.

He thought about it and said he could. He said he could do a compounded
3 month Deslorelin Depot but would need to know the dosage, etc. I told
him I didn't know but that I would see if I could find out what dosage
is being used in the clinical trials in the U.S. or what is being used
in Europe and would get back to him. Ergo my earlier post.

He was going on the information I gave him and not suggesting the
mechanism or delivery. It was my error in assuming the Deslorelin was
an injectable depot. But maybe we inadvertently stumbled on something
that might very well work.
