Subject: [ferrethealth] white spots on liver
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Bandit had had an "ebbing and flowing" spleen for some time. Sometimes
seeming a bit enlarged and very hard, sometimes feeling normal.
Antobiotics usually cleared things up, but it seemed strange. And
lately he seemed to be feeling generally punky. He has also been prone
to hairballs despite preventative goo. So he went in for exploratory
last week. The spleen was indeed enlarged--larger than in had seemed
because it was folded over. The vet took it out. He took a full week to
stop moping around, which is a long time for ferrets I've had
experience with, but seems to be doing well now. Vet also said that one
adrenal seemed slightly enlarged (wish she'd told me before she stiched
him up!), and that he had strange white spots on his liver that did not
look like lymphoma. She didn't do a biopsy because livers are so
vascular (apt to bleed).

Any ideas on the white spots?
