Subject: [ferrethealth] E. coli recalls for those feeding non-kibbles
To: fhl <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>, ferret-l@LISTSERV.FERRETMAILINGLIST.ORG
The worst E. coli strains create shiga toxin so cooking is not
sufficient since the toxin remains. 0157:H7 is the most dangerous of
the E. coli strains.
Sorry that my schedule has been such that I have not been able to keep
up with these recently:
In
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/News_&_Events/2008_news_releases/index.asp
you will find beef from multiple U.S. locations with this problem this
month.
Although not useful in this instance
http://www.fda.gov/opacom/7alerts.html
is also a site to bookmark.
