Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Ferret walking unbalanced
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Lauren, it may be cause for concern but it may also be that he needs
some time to get rehydrated. I have a ferret with insulinoma and she
does walk unbalanced from time to time. In situations such as that I
give her a mix of water and corn syrup. You do not need alot of it to
help them come out of it. It is also a good idea to make sure that he
eats something afterwords or he will drop more than before. Since he
is by himself, you could use pedialyte in a bowl and let him drink as
he needs. Duk soup is a good idea as well. If you happen to put him on
pred ask for something for his stomach. Sabrina has to take pred and
she also has gastricalm to make sure that she doesn't get an ulcer.
