Vets can clean teeth, but so can you. Vets are more likely to do a detailed 'scraping' that would probably need sedation, but this isn't usually necessary unless their teeth have been neglected for a while. There are special pet toothpastes that you can buy, and you can either use the soft rubber 'finger' toothbruch that comes with some of them, or a very soft baby toothbrush. You should clean your own ferret's teeth periodically.
