Subject: [ferrethealth] Swollen Prostate - We Have Progress!!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

When I got up during he night last night to express Madison's bladder,
there was very little there. I looked in his cage but he had,
unfortunately, turned over his water so that didn't help. When I got
up this morning, his bladder wasn't full. I dropped him off at the
vet this a.m. Our plan was for them to express him during the day,
and possibly take him into surgery.

My vet called and said he is definitely going on his own so he sent
him home to recouperate from his ordeal for a week and we'll go in for
bloodwork next Monday, and surgery next Wednesday.

In his particular case, it took about 84 hours for the Lupron to kick
in enough to allow him to urinate on his own.

I'm very glad that is over and I'm sure he is also. The last few
times, I could tell it was very uncomfortable for him.
