Well, as you will see by reading
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18840962
and
http://www.afip.org/consultation/vetpath/ferrets/PDF/Lymphoma_Ferrets.pdf

lymphoma cases themselves can vary widely, and so do the results.
We've had ones treated with Prednisolone (which we prefer over
Prednisone) who have gotten anywhere from a few months to 14 months
after diagnosis. Had any of those been dealing with JL the shortest
time frame would have been in weeks but the one we had with JL was
before anyone had tried treating lymphoma in ferrets. We also had two
whose lymphoma was hidden until they were pretty much dying.

Why Prednisolone rather than Prednisone? To utilize Prednisone the
liver has to first convert it to Prednisolone. If the liver is at all
compromised it can be pretty poor at doing that, so by skipping that
liver processing step you get more effect with less med.

You may also want to learn about the Tufts Chemo Protocol. I'm sure
that FHL members who tried it for their ferrets will be happy to tell
you more.

So how much the disease has spread before discovery, the form of
lymphoma, the location or locations to which it has spread, are all
factors that play into longevity.
