There are other forms of skin problems which can look
like tumors, and among the tumors sebaceous epithelioma
may be a better fit for this description.
Added fluids is a common approach for ferrets with
kidney disease. Also, while some vets decrease total
protein for chronic kidney diseases some others have
been trying using less of other sources of protein while
substituting some highly accessible sources like cooked egg.
The aim is to reduce phosphorous in the diet.
Don't wait for dehydration to begin extra fluids for ferrets
who have kidney disease.
Omega 3 fatty acids also are often added to the diets of
ferrets with kidney disease.
Be extra careful to avoid anything connected to kidney
disease in ferrets such as raisins or grapes which have
caused acute kidney failure in large enough amounts in
ferrets.
