Joanne,

You obviously care very deeply for your fuzzkid and do not want him to
be any more stressed than necessary.

Sedating him to draw a blood sample sounds like the most practical and
kindest (to him) solution. I appreciate that you did not like how he
came out of the sedative but he did come out of it, even though it was
distressing to you to watch it.

If it is indeed a skin tumor it will continue to grow, cover more
surface area and will make your baby extremely uncomfortable. The
larger it is, the more difficult it will be to remove. It will also
take longer, which means more sedation, longer recovery time and so on.
