The only one we had with pneumonia had just
very mild symptoms and sounded fine with a
stethoscope. The vet x-rayed her only because
we wanted it. Not only was she infected, but
she was so infected that she began her med
routine with injected antibiotics and then two
oral hard hitting antibiotics since she was
literally ill enough that she might not wake
up. So, doing the x-rays probably saved her
life because otherwise either nothing would
have been done or a lighter antibiotic approach
that would have been unlikely to work would
have been tried instead.
