We feed our 19 with a mix of three or four dry foods. If you look in Wal-Mart Cat food section, look for the Maxximum Kitten food. That is part of out dry mix. It comes in a purple and black 4 lb bag. Don't know what Petco sells. We purchase our other ferret food from http://www.ferretfepot.com Really it is your preference and what your ferret will eat. We use a mix of foods in case the manufacturer changes the recipe or one food is unavailable. Best advise, shop around on-line for best price and shipping cost.
Of course you could feed raw in the form of pinkies. But that is a whole different "can of worms" so to speak.

What is the best thing to feed a ferret that I can buy from Wal-Mart or
PETCO because that's really the only stores where I live that would
sell animal food.
