Pops is my ferret. Dee put the post out there for me, but now I am a
member of this group. His only other symptom other then the leg is the
occasional diarrhea. He has no fever. He does sleep a little more and
get tired faster then my two girls, but then again we were told Pops
was between 5 and 7 and the girls are only 1 and 2. Most of his leg
that is swelled is hard other then the I guess it would be where his
knee should be. Below that it is gushy, but that is where the blood is
coming from. I am able to drain is leg, but all I get is blood. It is
not bloody liquid, but blood. It looks like his leg is filling up with
blood. He doesn't seem to care that his leg is swelled up. He still
runs and plays with the other ferrets and even sneaks up on me and
ambushes me. It seems to be a favorite thing for my kids to do is
ambush me. He does seem to have better days then others. Like today
he was full of energy. He was running all over the place barking away
and doing a little war dance. I'm very concerned about his leg
though. There are very few vets in my area and the one I took Pops to
didn't seem like he know what he was talking about. He was telling me
that his next step would be to take x-rays to see if something was
broken. I am not that experienced with Ferrets but if a bone is broken
it would not be swollen for over 5 weeks. Does anyone have any ideas?
