Subject: [ferrethealth] Rare findings
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Recently, my aged sprite Leizl was opened up for an exploratory due
to the following symptoms:
extreme lethargy,
rufusal of foods and liquids.adominal sweling/mass felt upon palpation.
Lymphosarcoma was suspected.

When the surgeon opened her up, he found multiple and various
granulomas and organ adhesions that he just closed her up and sent her
home with me that day for some final comfort.

My Surgeon commented that he had never seen these in a ferret
before, and I immediately agreed that further pathology was necessary.
Samples were taken and sent to U of [removed as per rules but a major vet school].

They had never seen such in a ferret before either, and I have
requested all the info sent from them to my Surgeeon regarding their
findings to present at the Symposium next week.
Dr said they were using those results on rounds(?)
Perhaps we can have something of benefit for us all if these are
truely rare and new circumstances in ferrets.

I refused to force feed her, and the little trickster still begged
for treats that she'd hide, and chew foods but not swallow. She'd dip
her chin in her water bowl , but not drink.
she only wanted to please her Moma.

I kept her hydrated, and the next day she was assisted to the Bridge...
