Hi,
I have had VPI insurance for a few years. Recently cancelled some of
the policies because it was costing me more in premiums than I was
getting back in reimbursements.
If you have a small number of ferrets and they are younger and healthy,
probably worth getting. It does cover a percentage of things like
surgery for an obstruction, or tooth extractions (not dental scaling).
But does not cover the 2 biggest illnesses our fuzzies are prone to
i.e., insulinoma or adrenal disease. It does not cover investigative
tests, meds, or surgeries for these two illnesses. Sometimes it
covers neoplasias like lymphoma but not if the cancer involves the
endocrine system.
$24.00 would be your monthly premium. I was paying $11.00 for some of
my fuzzkids, $14.00 for others and with eight it was becoming costly
especially when the reimbursements were less than the annual premiums.
Have a close look at what is excluded from coverage so that you know
what you can claim for.
It is legit.
