Subject: [ferrethealth] How to get rid of bird mites?

Yesterday a neighbor a couple of floors below me told me that there was
a bird mite (Ornithonyssus sylviarum, or something like that)
infestation at her home. We are dealing with pigeons who are making
themselves at home and nesting in the building. The pigeons didn't
bother me at first but today I have found what seems to be a couple of
these extremely tiny insects, right on my hand!!!! So now I think they
might be invading my home too. My neighbor hired a professional
exterminator, but I wanted to see if anyone has a natural remedy for
this because I would like to protect my DS and my fuzzbabies from harsh
chemicals.
