Many thanks to Dianna for mentioning a GOOD IDEA for anyone
who will be away for anything, including the symposium.
Notice that during the days of the symposium it may take
longer for messages to be approved here and on some other
ferret groups.
This also has useful settings info for anyone who wants to
reduce the amount of mail received by getting daily digests
instead of individual mails.
If your mail begins to bounce it not only creates a lot of work
for us moderators but it also puts people at risk of being
removed from membership at which point they would have
to rejoin. Reasons why people's addresses bounce include:
full mailboxes, changed addresses without the person using
the My Groups page OR the List Addresses on the homepage
under the "Yahoo Answers" segment, or addressed that have
become corrupted for some reason within Yahoogroup's
records.
If bounces go on for over 2 weeks without the people
using the reactivation notices, or sending themselves
reactivation notices using their My Groups page those
addresses are automatically removed and the people
have to rejoin.
(Another reason why some people find themselves
having to rejoin is that despite over 2 dozen notices some
people missed that Smartgroups was bought and dismantled
at which point we moved to this -- our third -- location. There
are still some people who try to get the Smartgroups location
to work and then ask why they are "banned" when it doesn't
work; a few even get unpleasant about it when all they need
to do is to join at this current location.)

To change your settings just look near the TOP of the website
http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/ferrethealth/
on your RIGHT side for the small, light blue lettering saying
MY Groups
(I know, not visually friendly and I have suggested to Yahoo
that is be made easier to see, but it can be found once a
person knows where to look.)
On the Home page it is just above the banner. On the other
FHL pages today it is a little higher.
Just click it open.
You will immediately see all of the Yahoogroups to which you
belong, which addresses you are using for them, and so on.
On the upper left (again in light blue so it took me a while to
find it) is
Edit My Groups
Just click that open and you will find that you can quickly and easily
change your settings. If you don't expect much mail in total you
may want to select
Digest
but if you get a lot of mail or will be away for a long time then instead
try using
Special Notices
