Subject: [ferrethealth] Hernia
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My ferret Fat Boy has developed a hernia after his adrenal surgery.
It's about the size of a quarter. My vet said it is better to have a
large one than a small one, that way you can "push" whatever gets in
it, out. Last night, Fat Boy wasn't acting like he felt well. It
seemed like the beginning of an insulinomic episode. I also noticed
that his hernia was concave, rather than looking like a bubble like it
normally does. I don't know if this added to his discomfort or if it
is just from his insulinoma. He is at the vet right now.

Has anyone ever dealt with a hernia before? This is my first time.
