I do not know how relevent this is but I had a human friend who had
an umbilical hernia, the doctors kept delayin surgery because he was
on blood thinners because of an artificial heart valve. One day it
suddenly became concave instead of protruding, the hernia had become
strangulated and he had to have emergency surgery a few days later
but died from complications after the surgery.
You did right in taking Fat Boy to the vets.
