Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Different Food Question
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Technically, to date there are no known min/max nutrient requirements
known for ferrets beyond their need for a high fat. high protein, low
fiber, low ash, preferrably NO carbohydrate diet.

This has been my question forwarded to many ferret food manufacturers,
but has yet to be answered- how can they produce a product labeled
"nutritionally complete" or "properly balanced" for ferrets if the
nutrient requirements are in fact unknown?

Good luck in your quest. The conflicting information on manufactured
food labels and their questionable food stock sources was just one key
to my venture into the natural diet program for my ferrets.

Cheers,
Kim
