Poor little Nic. Correct, you definitely do not want to mix the
carafate with the soup. You want to give that one about 30 minutes
before you feed him, totally separate from all other medications and
food. I know it is stressful, but carafate is a very good medicine if
he really has ulcers. If he doesn't, it won't do anything for him.

Do you know what problem they suspected when they had him on the pred?
If his blood sugar was low, it would be insulinoma, and you would
want to continue it. It sounds they also aspirated his spleen, maybe
looking for lymphoma.

I'll watch for more updates.

Best wishes,
-Pam.
