Jason,

Good for your friend for taking her in.

For your friend: - First thing is get her into a ferret knowledgeable
veterinarian for a health check asap. She may need medications, sub-q
hydration, vaccinations, etc.

Check out the archives for various duck soup recipes you can give her.
At the very least you can start her on some chicken baby food mixed
with Hills Prescription A/D and some warm water. If she's dehydrated
add some Pedialyte to the mix. She should be offered this every 4
hours and have a high quality ferret kibble on hand for her to freely
eat.

Priority is to get her in to vet!!
