Well, I guess that it is very useful that I was away for 5 days at the IFC Synposium.

One of the speakers at the IFC Symposium was Ailigh Vanderbush who is going for her
masters, studying animal behavior:

http://www.animalia.us/staff.htm
from
http://www.animalia.us/

and this is one of the topics she addressed so well.

Early, safe and friendly introduction can be essential for learning how to get along with a
member of another species, and she had photos of one kit meeting all sorts of different
new friends from dog to pig. Obviously, some individuals will be exceptions. I've never
read an animal who "read the book" so don't be surprised by exceptions of pretty much
any sort. Still, for most, if a person wants inter-species relationships to work go for safe
and friendly introductions to the other species when the animal is young to vastly improve
the chances.

I have a lot to do at home, but as time allows I'll share some of the things I learned, and I
am sure others will also be teaching from the lessons of the Symposium talks, including
this topic. (HINT, HINT! :-) )

Sukie (not a vet) (Back on a more useable size and functionality computer so not just on
the iTouch now. YAY!)
