Hi Veronica,

Congratulations on becoming a ferrent : )

I know a lot of people recommend using bitter apple, however, it can
cause mouth ulcers and really is nasty stuff. In terms of chewing on
stuff - ideally you will remove chewable stuff from their reach. Now
some ferrets do have a penchant for chewing on cords but I don't
believe this is common. I have never had a ferret of my own or
fostered one that has had the least interest in chewing on a cord.
The probability is that neither will yours! However, if they do -
there are covers you can purchase for the cords at electronic retail
stores.
