Subject: [ferrethealth] Dog Toothpaste
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My little old girl no longer eats kibble on her own. She devours her
duck soup (a mixture of pumpkin for IBD, turkey baby food, water, and
ground feline EVO) but there's no chewing with that to keep her teeth
in order. I have noticed her gums are a bit red above her canine teeth
so I have started brushing her teeth with a little rubber finger tip
brush. I was getting ready to order Marshall teeth gel made for
ferrets but wondered if the dog tooth paste that I have in the house is
okay for her? I have Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste for Dogs. I don't
really see anything in it that would harm her but wanted to double
check. Would a cat tooth paste be better? Should I stick to something
that is made for ferrets?
TIA
Lisa
