Subject: [ferrethealth] Excessive ear wax and smelly ears
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Our 1-year-old big boy named Dozer has had an excessive amount of ear
wax lately and also has an odor in his ears, so much so that our other
boy, Morphy, often feels the need to stick his nose in Dozer's ears and
find out what's going on. I don't think it's related to mites, because
all five of our ferrets have had a monthly round of Revolution since we
adopted Dozer several months ago, and no on else shows any signs of
anything wrong with their ears. I read in the archives a little about
fungal infections in ears, and I'm wondering how this could be detected
for sure, and how to treat it.
