Heavy metal poisoning, especially lead, is being
mentioned in private messages as a possible
factor here. Certainly, there have been a number
of human toys recalled due to high lead levels
this year, and foils used to have high lead levels
so perhaps some current leads once again have
that problem.
By itself it is not a complete fit. Might it be if
whatever was eaten also caused injury and infection?
