Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Posting Nic Nac's info for Cindy and Vickie
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Tressie, I know this information is confusing. All the blood work is
can be found in the Case Files, Nic-Nac.
All the vet visits listed are on the post Sukie was good enough to
post for me, the problem is with some of the lines droped to the next
sentence making it even worse to read.
There were some referrals to the vets, Nic-Nac continued to worsen so
by vet number 3, Nic Nac's condition was grave and Vickie was told
Nic Nac would probably not make it through the night and was even
given Buprenex Oral Solution to make him more comfortable.
He did not have a blood transfusion - he was in no condition to have
it done and Vickie felt this vet was totally wrong in his diagnosis.
His blood work would be in his case files.
Coccidia - the last vet did a Fecal Flotation and put Nic Nac on
Albon for this condition. I find it strange as, # 1 the poop had
always been solid with no horrid smell and # 2 if it was coccidia,
then why would the other ferrets not have had to be treated?
Anemia - once again in reading the vets findings, they are all over
the board as far as actually doing something about it - that is just
my opinion.
Again, when reading the reports from all the vets, some of the lines
have droppede to another line so it is almost impossible to figure
out and I am really sorry but I do not know how to go in and correct
it. If someone wants to explain it to me, I can try to correct the
lines.,
To me, there is very little consistency in all of the vets but that
could just be my feeling. Treatments and Findings were all somewhat
different.
Lymphoma has not been ruled out.
Barium is being considered for a particle of toy that he may have
ingested.
Toy - will be tested, if Vickie is able to locate another one.
At present time - Nic-Nac is receiving Albon, Pet Nutrived B Comples
(generic to Pet Tinic) 0.25 BID and being souped every 4 to 5 hurs
for nutrition and hydration. ( soup consists of Carnivore Care,
Ground up Marshalls and alternating water and pedialyte. He eats
well, poop is solid, urnitation - normal - Gums pinker than before,
eyes - bright but very little activity.
I don't know if this helps explain as much as I know but the
information from the vet visits and the blood work were all results
of this.
