It, of course, it MIGHT be a malignancy with an
unusual presentation, but that is the problem,
isn't it? Unless this ferret developed more than
one thing simultaneously (another possibility)
there IS no tight enough fit to feel sanguine for
ANY of the options so far mentioned so it is really
best to not stick to one idea but to instead
acknowledge that there are multiple
possibilities.

In that case, if a procedure has a chance
chance of helping, especially if it has a chance
of helping more than one of the possible causes
then it might make sense to go for it, especially
if it is a procedure that fits for one of the
most overt symptoms (anemia), is not difficult,
and might even be part of a treatment if another
of the possibilities turn out to be what is
actually going on.

There is no harm in discussing that with the
treating vet.
