Thank you Cindy for clarifying things.

I am still puzzled why Vickie is not sticking with one vet, the one she
has most confidence and trust in. Vet hopping (as doc hopping in
humans) is a little concerning.

It will make more sense if I address specifics - see comments below.

His stool is solid, he's not vomiting - what other symptoms is he
displaying suggestive of an obstruction??

So the only real clinical symptom at this time is 'little activity'?
Plus swollen lymph nodes and enlarged spleen? I looked at the blood
panel done on Nov. 12/08 and he is NOT anemic, RBC at 8.1 is well within
normal limits.

Enlarged spleens are not an abnormal finding in ferrets.

Swollen lymph nodes come with everything from Helicobacter to GI
distress, including coccidia as well as more serious illnesses.

BG is also normal (147) according to the chemistry/ blood panel results
posted.

I am back to the heart murmur and cardiomyopathy, which could explain
much.

An aside on a comment made earlier regarding seeing an Exotics Vet. My
vet is an Exotics Vet (we have them in Canada) and he still consults
with American ferret knowledgeable colleagues. The speciality is not
the measure of the calibre of care received.
