Is this ferret improving in tests, exams and symptoms
over time?

If so, then it may be that the ferret's own body is
resolving the problem, whether it is infection,
injury, poisoning, or whatever, and the cause may
never be known. If that winds up being the case
then it may pay to "treat the patient rather than
the disease" (a phrase I got to hear sometimes
when my body was resolving a peripheral
neurological problem on its own over a few years).

There was such difficulty with communication in
getting the symptoms known here that I have to
wonder if a trick that I had to use in the past when
emotionally strung out over the illnesses of some
family members may work. First off, stop switching
vets so that one has a chance to observe better.
Second -- and here is the trick -- write down the
symptoms, and share those and suggestions with
the medical professionals in writing. For example,
print out replies received, if a reply is more than one
page staple those pages together and in large writing
say what each addresses, for example:
lymphoma
or
heavy metal poisoning
or and other possibilities addressed in replies.

It is very easy when worried to worry oneself into a
worse position, and to have difficulty communicating
essential information. Without that info no one can
really help, including treating vets.

Hey, it happens in treating humans, so it can happen
in treating ferrets because in both situations worried
people are gatekeepers for what has been observed.
We're all only human. Perhaps it is worth a try.
