well, his poo definitely looks better than the last pics you posted!!

is he still on the antibiotics or has the course been completed?

some of the darkness in the poo can be attributed to the evo red
bites since it's so much darker than any of the other food he's been
eating recently. some of it would, i'd assume, be his system
getting back to normal. after infections it can be a week or so
before the poo gets completely back to normal and has the usual firm
quality about it.

i really think it was an infection and that it's out of the system
now.

there could still be the possibility that this was an 'ibd' flare-
up - and, if he's eating kibble with chicken in it and you don't
know how much he's taking in, then that is a strong possibility.
any way to just have the red bites out for snacking? for all of
them, not just him, then you wouldn't have to worry about another
flare-up.

there could also still be a possibility of lymphoma. my percy had
similar poo (along with intermittent seedy stuff) that looked
similar to that and none of the bloodwork, over the course of more 9
months, showed any indication of it. just the last run (done within
24 hours of him passing) showed some items elevated - even then,
nothing was that far off the normal range to have been any real
concern. since we didn't know what had happened, we did a necropsy
and that's when the lymphoma was found - most of it within the
various areas of the digestive system and other spots throughout.

i've had others that had the same type of poo and their issues were
infections and cleared up, never to return, with a course of
antibiotics.

i certainly hope that that is all this is!! over the course of the
next couple weeks, you'll get him back on his usual diet and if you
see a recurrance of the symptoms, then you'll know for sure there's
some problem with the frozen raw stuff.

the only evo that i'm aware of that causes runny poo seems to be the
ferret one. at least, that is what people who've used that one
say. i've not heard anyone that uses the cat one say that and
certainly not the dog versions. and, i think the whole issue with
that anyway is that they were switched off to the evo too quickly.
which can also happen with the cat evo. it'll clear up within a
couple of weeks, though, so it shouldn't be a concern. i would say
to use the cat one instead of the ferret, though, since the ferret
one does seem to cause a problem even with a gradual switch. the
red bites has never seemed to be an issue - at least i've never
heard anyone mention it causing runny poo.

oh, and a comment on another post that i didn't have time to reply
to when it occured: bob church has compiled all the info he just
collected (worldwide) and what he found confirms the issue of
whether or not carbohydrates cause issues (insulinoma) in ferrets.
they do.

[Moderator's Note:
As with any study, let's all see the data, the study design,
what was actually investigated, the alternative possibilities
that could not be ruled out, the study types, and other
factors that always affect any study, and as usual then it
is always best to wait for independently confirming data
because honestly not all studies agree on a great many
topics and we've all run into too many which went to
public press with great hoopla that got shot down by
later studies done by others. So, for his type of study
with his type of design that is the conclusion he is
drawing, and that is fair and accurate to say. Beyond
that is grain of salt time till there is more info and further
study, same as with any research by anyone.]
