Vickie,

Sukie is absolutely correct! Take your direction from your
veterinarian, give him a copy of the history you've posted here.

Make a list of the things people suggested it could be, for example,
lymphoma, toxic poisoning and so on. Take the list with you when you
see the vet.

Ask your vet directly whether it is possible that Nic Nac has
cardiomyopathy, given Dr. X diagnosed it.=20

Then ask the vet if he would arrange for the necessary tests, for
example as Sukie suggested an ultrasound, to confirm that diagnosis.

Take someone with you when you go to the vet. Its sometimes hard to
remember everything a vet tells us but if you have someone with you,
he or she can help you remember. The other person can also help to
remind you about things you may forget to bring up.

If Nic Nac does have cardiomyopathy he could become very ill without
treatment.

He may be feeling better, which is great but that does not mean he is
completely well. Only a vet will be able to tell for sure.
