Subject: [ferrethealth] Very imprtant, maybe someone can help me please
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My ferret passed away yesterday,We are all really depressed, but most
of all our other ferret Lily, she looks everywhere for him,she doesnt
eat or sleep in a cage, she comes lays in a hammeck for about one
minute and leaves. She lays next to the cage and stares at it.Its
abvious shes depressed. Im wondering if anyone is in the same
situation, and maybe looking for a playdate.I live in
Illinois, chicago, not far from park ridge,Niles,Skokie,Des plaines etc.
and i would take a ferret to my house,we can get them together all the
time. Please email me at hottiexx172003@hotmail.com if you have any
ideas. or how to make her feel better,i dont think she will survive
alone.( i spend as much time with her as possible)

[Moderator's Note: Anyone interested will need
to respond to this poster directly, and of course,
security measures make sense: neutral territory
for all humans and ferrets, sharing of info on
vaccination and ADV testing histories beforehand,
and so on to be sure that all of any species are
safe.

Another option may be adoption of a second ferret:
your own vet may know of ones seeking homes
and there are these resources to find local
shelters and to help shelters:

Sadly, ferrets do often have trouble with grief.
