Subject: [ferrethealth] Melatonin for adrenal disease
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

From the responses I've received, it sounds as if Trinny's hair loss (shoulders and down spine to near rear legs, as well as on left side of spine) is probably a sign that she now has adrenal disease. From any experience that others have had with oral melatonin, does it make sense for me to try oral melatonin for a while first, or should I go right to the melatonin implant? We don't know her age, but she's at least 6 by my guess, and I do not want to put her thru surgery. I think she's only a marginal candidate for surgery due to also having IBD and early insulinoma. They have both been managed pretty well with twice daily Prednisolone, 0.15 ml of 15 mg/5 ml strength. She has been getting oral melatonin daily for a while now, but only 1 mg or less per day.
