Are you sure that the current med is 20 mg per ml
and not 2.0 mg per ml?
1.2 ml of 20 mg/ml would work out to 2.4 mg. That
is a hefty amount unless this is is a large ferret or
unless this an advanced insulinoma or an advanced
malignancy. We've used amounts like that for
a small female when her insulinoma was in its last weeks.
What is wrong with the ferret? What tests have been done?
It is best to give Prednisolone and to split the
amount among 2 or even 3 dosings per day instead of
once a day because of its length of action.
Many use Pediapred or generics.
Your best bet is to have the pharmacy and the vet speak
together directly, of course. Actually, the pharmacy will
insist on direct communication with the hospital.
