Is your Vet a ferret savvy Vet?
Black poops mean that there was definately some kind of irritation
resulting in bleeding inside.
The lip smacking/swallowing indicated that he's nauseous at times too.
I would keep him at least on the Carafate if that is what was being
used. Pehaps a second opinion ?
